A. Parsons Pete's Camp
Owner A. Parsons has longed for a garage since he bought in San Felipe over
20 years ago. Vertical Construction started his project in January of 2009.
Parsons is a retired race mechanic on a budget. He hired Vertical Construction
for the slab portion only. His reasoning was that he wanted to get the slab done
correctly to ensure that when he finishes the remainder of the garage himself,
he would not be fixing mistakes first. The slab is a total of 1400 square feet.
Anchors were placed in the slab so that a vehicle frame bender can be attached.

Batch plant trucks are used to ensure different concrete strengths for varying applications. Plastic underlayment, rebar and wire reinforcement meets US
codes not required nor typically used by other contractors in San Felipe. Lasers
allow for exact placement of forms on the footers.
After the cement is poured, hours of hand trowelling is
required to assure a smooth finish.
Trowelling it smooth enough for a child to skate on.
What happened? After two weeks of the project sitting, the homeowner decided that it would be more efficient for Vertical Construction to finish the project. 3 foot block walls were built and wood framing began. Wood framing with insulation gives a better R value than block. For those afraid of termite issues, metal framing is a great option. Watch for updates.
